27 July 2026 – Manila, Philippines – Climate Smart Ventures (CSV) and Netsolar Inc. have entered into a joint venture and subscription agreement to invest in, develop, operate, and manage a portfolio of distributed renewable energy (RE) projects in the Philippines. Under the agreement, the parties target raising debt and equity funding to partially finance and accelerate the deployment of their pipeline in the next 1-2 years.
Netsolar Inc., a premier developer and operator of distributed renewable energy assets in the Philippines, established in 2015, brings a robust operational track record to this partnership. This collaboration will enable Netsolar to scale its operations and meet the rising demand for clean energy solutions, targeting a 44 MW portfolio in the next 12-24 months.
“I’ve always believed that scaling the energy transition means bringing three things together: customer demand, access to capital, and the capability to execute. This partnership does exactly that, and it aims to accelerate solar adoption across the Philippines,” said Lance Dy, Director of Growth and Partnerships, Netsolar Inc.
With over a decade in the industry, Netsolar has successfully deployed over 50 MW of solar capacity and completed more than 220 projects nationwide. The combined expertise of Netsolar in project development, engineering, and asset operation, alongside CSV’s deep transaction advisory and sustainable finance capabilities, creates a vertically integrated platform positioned to scale distributed energy across the country.
“This partnership with Netsolar is a strategic step in our mission to accelerate energy transition in the Philippines through new business and financing models. This platform will be the first of its kind with focus on accelerating RE adoption for small to large private and public customers in the Philippines” said Matt Carpio, Chief Financial Officer and Head of Philippine Operations of CSV. “There is so much work to be done, this is just the first step,” he added.
By unlocking institutional capital and scaling commercial and industrial solar assets, the partnership aims to lower energy costs for local businesses while drastically reducing grid carbon intensity. This creates a new class of investor in the distributed renewable energy space, supporting the Philippines’ national target of achieving a 50% RE energy mix.
